The Clean energy regulator recently released a media update showing an amazing rise in solar installations in 2017.

According to the data that was gathered through the small-scale renewable energy scheme there was in excess of 1057 megawatts of solar installed in 2017 across the country.

thats a whole lot of solar panels, infact the clean energy regulator estimated that this was equal to approximately 3.5 million solar panels on australian roof tops!

“We are seeing a wide cross-section of Australians – households, community centres, schools, and small businesses – receiving incentives under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme.”

”Our data shows consumers are embracing renewable energy to take control of their electricity bills.”
— Clean Energy Regulator Executive General Manager Mark Williamson

With a reported 41 Percent rise in installed renewable energy australia wide unfortunately it was not the ACT who topped the charts for installed capacity with Queensland claiming the title with a reported 295 megawatts, but the ACT did take the top place with the largest increase on 2016 data showing a 57 percent rise in overwall systems installed.

“The data collected by the Clean Energy Regulator in 2017 reflects the industry is going from strength to strength. It looks like 2018 will be another big year for the solar industry.”
— Clean Energy Regulator Executive General Manager Mark Williamson
